I am back

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , on October 31, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

So after many hostile emails demanding I return to blogging and posting, I have finally returned to TheCrazyGamerBlog.com.  It is sad to say but GamerPeer.com is currently on a hiatus but we we would love still people’s comments and feedback.  If there are enough threats I am sure we will find a way to add more games and return to kicking ass for the gaming community.  With that being said, blogging will be a part time “escape” and I look forward to entertaining you once again.  From now on it is strictly video game shenanigans…. oh goodie

"Did somebody say shenanigans?" Farva, SuperTroopers, Cops, movie quotes, Shenanigans

Amazing right

We are back baby!

GamerPeer takes over PAX East

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , on April 10, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

That’s right I said it!  GamerPeer.com was across from the Riot booth (League of Legends) and I have to say, we kicked their ass in terms of being awesome.  Don’t believe me?  Look at this photo of our booth.

Gotcha punks!  This is a picture of our booth prior to having 3 guys clean everything and try to make it look attractive…  Wait time out, you want 3 guys to make something look nice, like an interior decorator for conventions per-say?  You caught me, that is exactly what it was like.  The worst/best part, depending on how you view it, was we all had different perspectives on how the booth should look.  We needed to brainstorm a way to show our exhibit and attract the most interest in our site.  Here is an example of our brainstorming conversation.

Guy 1:  I think we should put monitors in the front, our banner in the back, and a bunch of business cards in the front.

Guy 2:  I think we should put monitors in the front, our banner in the back, a bunch of our business cards in the front, and include a PS VITA as a free giveaway.  This would make people stop by our booth, sign up, and give us an opportunity to give our elevator pitch.

Me:  “I think we should get strippers and put them in front playing video games.”

Even though I brought up an excellent point, the others overruled me.  Here is a final image of our exhibit.

Booth Babe, League of Legends, Pax East, Ashe, LOL, GamerPeer, matchmaking

yup

JACK!!!!!!!!! Is that a gamer chick at your booth?  You know it!  Did you really think I was going to lose and not have my own personal booth babe?  The best and coolest part about this picture is she is dressed as Ashe – my favorite League of Legends summoner.   I did not get her number, but learned a valuable lesson.  Don’t pass up an opportunity to buy Ashe a drink.

Over the next few days I will post more pictures from various events at PAX East, pictures of a costume contest, and go through my final summary.

PAX East Experience so far

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , on April 5, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

Yes, I know a good portion of you are going to bitch about having to turn your head a few degrees to the side – oh well.   So I arrive at my first ever PAX convention, actually it is my first ever convention and am a little overwhelmed.  Some of you might know the lineup for PAX but this is crazy.  I am across from RioT games – creators of League of Legends.  Their booth is about 100-100 and mine is 10 x 10.  Mad props to them, not only are they going to get a shit ton of traffic because the game is amazing, but they even have HD tv’s set up.  Is it inappropriate to ask them to turn on the baseball games or at least attach an Xbox console to the tv directly in front of me… They are being selfish 🙂

In addition to being next to a huge game – but the first banner I see is one for Max Payne 3.  Let me refresh, the first banner I see is about the size of a house.  St. Peters facade, would be dwarfed by this massive banner.  So sweet.  I don’t feel like typing anymore because I am supposed to be social – but I will be updating regularly… if there is anything you would like to see let me know.

Halo… the best what kind of game?

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on March 29, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

So I am minding my own business, doing some work for www.GamerPeer.com when I get a message on Skype.

Boss: “Jack, one of our followers on twitter wants Halo Reach added to the site.”

“You can’t be serious…”

Boss: “Yeah, one of our new followers wants Halo Reach added to the site.”

“I hope he is a college kid who has Halo Reach in his beer drinking games group.”

Boss:  “I won’t ask.  Just add the game.”

Right now many of you probably only have 1 question, “what the heck is a beer drinking games group… it sounds absolutely amazing!”  Well I am glad you asked.  A beer drinking game group is a collection of video games that can and should only be played while drinking beer.  It is one of those 2-5 am video games during college where you come back from a late night party, order a large pizza, and pick up your sticks (controllers for you nbes) with friends.  The interesting thing about the beer drinking game group is that if one of the players didn’t go to the same party, or an equal level of party, they seem to always win.  What dicks.  Anyway, in addition to Halo, some other games in my beer drinking game group include, Mario Kart (for all systems), Fusion Frenzy, Super Smash (all systems), Fifa (even though I can play sober), Mario Party, and Wii Golf… Basically any game that doesn’t record your drunk stats – can any of you guess why?

sweeet

Halo has and will always be in this beer drinking category for me because a. I never win (haha) b. I always eat the most pizza (again haha) c. have a tendency to pass out holding sticks (smiley face).  I know there are people out there who can relate to this category or have other games they want to add to this group, so please feel free to comment or email me with your favorite beer drinking games.

With that being said, I  did some research on this tweeter and was very happy with what I found.  Not to my surprise he is a college kid who drinks beer, likes sports, likes females, and plays video games…(That’s right I asked him)  Game on my dude.  Just remember if you are going to play video games while drinking beer, don’t play games that keep stats – I mean use http://www.GamerPeer.com to find gamers like you.  🙂

My First Zumba Class

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , on March 17, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

This post is going to be dedicated to the lovely and talented Miss Christina Milian who inspired me with a tweet she posted a few days ago.

Christina Milian ‏ @CMilianOfficial –Omg I just finished doing the #Zumba fitness game on my #Xbox. And WOW! Its a real workout! Sweating a ton! I burned 510 cal! Yay!

For those of you that do not know what Zumba is, here is a quick video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf0q6qtThF4. I am assuming those guys were lost or confused because in the 1.5 years I have been going to the same gym, I have never seen a single guy in a class.   To put that in perspective- I was a two sport college athlete and like to stay in perfect physical shape  (yes, I am arrogant/confident/amazing, thanks) so I go to the gym about 6 times a week.  Most of the days I go to spin… err I mean pump iron in timbs and a cut off T but whatever.  Anyway, out of those 6 x 90 weeks I have never seen a guy in the zumba class.

I digress from the point, as I was saying, Christina Milian tweeted that she finished a zumba class on xbox… I was a little intrigued.  I secretly have always wanted to partake in a zumba class, not just watch from the back window.  #CreepingMakesForABetterStory.  So what did I do you ask?  I did what any bored 24 year old male would do – spent $60 on the Zumba Fitness xbox game.

Miss Milian’s impressive 540 calories burned is a record that I will never beat.  Apparently the zumba workout requires you to move and be active – not sit on the couch and watch the videos.  haha.  One of these days Christina you and I will have a zumba dance off… or something like that.  Thanks for being awesome.

*On a Side Note: I am sure I wouldn’t have spent $60 bucks on a zumba game if Justin Bieber said he works out to it.  I am sure your cool Biebs but lets be real.

Happy Saturday you hungover punks!

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , on February 11, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

Hope all of you had a fantastic Friday night and ripped shots of Tequila (see above).  Because most of my reader base is totally awesome, I have to assume that each and every one of you feels like death and just woke up.  Raise your hand if you are jealous. Crazy kid should probably put his hand down until at least highschool.  Yes, I already know I am out of my mind and probably going to get in a lot of trouble for this post but it’s funny to me.

Anyway it is cold as shit in New York and I don’t feel like doing anything.  Normally I would be inside most of the day watching movies and playing video games, but when part of your job description is to play video games it can become a real drag.  I am obviously going to play but not because I want to but because I have to… How will I manage? @Toughlife.  The real question of the day is what type of food I should order.   I have narrowed it down to two restaurants, an Italian deli and trying Korean food.   The funny thing about the deli is it is literally a block away from me and I am still going to have them deliver.  Hooray for Saturday’s and being a lazy shit.  I am not sure about all of you, but for me ordering something new is like going to McDonalds.  Depending on the time of  day and your current mental state it can be amazing or make you want to kill yourself.  ie 6pm for dinner or 4 am ripped… hmm I wonder which tastes better.  To be honest I don’t even know what type of Korean food is good.  If you have any suggestions email me at Thejackofalltrades10@gmail.com.  Better make it fast because I am hungry.  Enjoy your Saturday punks.

Modern Warfare 3… No, I do not want to play.

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on December 27, 2011 by Jack Of all Trades
When you know you play to many video games
This is what I feel like after spending hours playing games for GamerPeer.com

So today a friend of mine told me that he finally got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for 360, and asked if I wanted to play tonight or this week. My answer, was simple and to the point… “No.” After my brilliant answer he thought I was kidding because I love playing Call of Duty, especially instead of doing work. He continued by saying, “Why not? Your always down to game.”

I am not sure what it was, but at that moment I had a million answers running through my head. The scary thing was none of them had anything to do with wanting to play another game such as Battlefield 3, Fifa 12, or Star Wars The Old Republic, he just sucked and would bring my Kill to Death Ratio down. Not only would my Kill to Death Ratio collapse, but my win percentage would follow. On top of all that, he doesn’t know how to defend bases in Domination and would basically mess my shit up. Seriously bro my 15 year old sister would stealth and knife you from behind. I have already prestiged 2 times and am to important of a player to babysit while you learn how to camp.

My response… “I’m tired and have a lot of work to do tonight, maybe we can play tomorrow.” @TrueFriendsDontSuckAtVideoGames. On a side note, If anyone with a Kill to Death Ratio above 1.5 wants to game email me at TheJackOfallTrades10@gmail.com. (Kidding! but not really)

Look for another post later tonight on my favorite female athlete, who is a closet Gamer!
