My First Zumba Class

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , on March 17, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

This post is going to be dedicated to the lovely and talented Miss Christina Milian who inspired me with a tweet she posted a few days ago.

Christina Milian ‏ @CMilianOfficial –Omg I just finished doing the #Zumba fitness game on my #Xbox. And WOW! Its a real workout! Sweating a ton! I burned 510 cal! Yay!

For those of you that do not know what Zumba is, here is a quick video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf0q6qtThF4. I am assuming those guys were lost or confused because in the 1.5 years I have been going to the same gym, I have never seen a single guy in a class.   To put that in perspective- I was a two sport college athlete and like to stay in perfect physical shape  (yes, I am arrogant/confident/amazing, thanks) so I go to the gym about 6 times a week.  Most of the days I go to spin… err I mean pump iron in timbs and a cut off T but whatever.  Anyway, out of those 6 x 90 weeks I have never seen a guy in the zumba class.

I digress from the point, as I was saying, Christina Milian tweeted that she finished a zumba class on xbox… I was a little intrigued.  I secretly have always wanted to partake in a zumba class, not just watch from the back window.  #CreepingMakesForABetterStory.  So what did I do you ask?  I did what any bored 24 year old male would do – spent $60 on the Zumba Fitness xbox game.

Miss Milian’s impressive 540 calories burned is a record that I will never beat.  Apparently the zumba workout requires you to move and be active – not sit on the couch and watch the videos.  haha.  One of these days Christina you and I will have a zumba dance off… or something like that.  Thanks for being awesome.

*On a Side Note: I am sure I wouldn’t have spent $60 bucks on a zumba game if Justin Bieber said he works out to it.  I am sure your cool Biebs but lets be real.

Tell me I am not awesome!

So I was going through my PC and found a lot of old shit I created when I first joined the GamerPeer team.  This is a video that they did not like because of copyright issues.  To summarize – I made this flash video and can not endorse this as part of the project.  However, I think it is cool enough video and neat function on GamerPeer.com worth showing.  I really need to step my flash and anime game up a bit so over the next few weeks I will drastically improve and expand my ego even more.

Anyway check out this flash video I made a few months ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTbLSbpQfS4 and I dare you to try and tell me that this didn’t make your day.

Tomorrow I have an easy day so I will be talking about how Women’s National Soccer Team Stars, Alex Morgan  and Tobin Heath (check out former post http://crazygamerblog.com/2011/12/27/professional-female-athlete-or-professional-gamer/) tweeted about @Gamerpeer.com.  Maybe I will include Christina Milian twitter response in tomorrow’s post, but who knows how I will be feeling tomorrow after a night out.  *Side  Note* If anyone has a good gift idea for the lovely ladies please let me know.  I am open to any and all suggestions.

I can go on and on about the recent and interesting stuff we have been doing – but that’s like finishing in 30 seconds… “Its a marathon not a sprint Jack…”  😉

Cash prize competition? Go on…

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 27, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

So GamerPeer.com has been live for almost 3 weeks now.  Our first week we tried a bootstrap marketing campaign and posted on a few gaming forums.  After three days of doing this we had 1,400 users and amazing feedback on the site.  For the past two weeks we have done zero marketing or advertising and only gained an additional 92 users.  What does this all mean?  Well it means that we need to get off our ass and market to be successful.

Now I am sure some of you are probably thinking, “Wow, Jack you really are not only amazing and impressive, but you can seduce, err deduce conclusions like a first grader.”  Ok that doesn’t make any sense but deduce was my word of the day and had to use it in a sentence so lay off…

Anyway, in regards to marketing and GamerPeer.com, some of you might not give a rat’s butt (got scolded today for saying ass…)  but I would like to have a little competition.  This isn’t going to be a friendly ho hum competition where everyone holds hands and stares at rainbows.  Forget that!  This is an all out competitive marketing/idea competition that will reward the best campaign with 100$ and a shout out on www.GamerPeer.com

NOTE: the competition winner will receive a cash GIFT that is unaffiliated with GamerPeer.com.

Guidelines are as follows… if you have a marketing idea, email me at TheJackofalltrades10@gmail.com or reply here.  Your ideas are anonymous and should be fun, creative, and cheap.  We are targeting 18-35 year old men who play video games so if you think you have a good idea, let me know.

Although I am only doing this as a test, I look forward to see everyone’s response.  You are welcome to submit as many suggestions as you like.  I look forward to reading them all.

GamerPeer.com is finally Live!

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on February 9, 2012 by Jack Of all Trades

So we finally launched our site yesterday afternoon.  It has been up for 2 days and we already have about 200 users.  The feedback has been very positive and we really appreciate any and all comments.  I on the other hand have been responding to user feedback all night and am exhausted.  When I say all night I mean that it is now 3:50 am and I am currently adding new games to the website.  We currently have about 50 games on the site and will have about 60 by the end of the week.  Incase any of you haven’t gotten the memo, the site has a wide variety of games that includes, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Chess, Words with Friends, and Starcraft…  Basically any game that tickles your fancy (haha, sorry that made me laugh while I was typing) will be on the site.

Come check us out at www.gamerpeer.com and let me know what tickles your fancy… I am obviously referring to games you want to see on the site.

Test Test this is a Test

Posted in GamerPeer.com with tags , , , , , , , , , , on December 28, 2011 by Jack Of all Trades

Calm down you WWF fanatics who think I am talking about the former wrestler from 20 years ago. Although I am very tempted to post a picture of his ring hostess, Trish Stratus…  Because I am trying to keep this blog as clean as possible I will not be posting those types of pics… (Click her link ;))   The test I am referring to is the long and tedious project of testing the website, www.gamerpeer.com for bugs.  It has now been about 2 weeks of testing and we are still finding silly coding errors on the site.  It has come to the point where I can navigate through the site with my eyes closed.  How embarassing is that?  Regardless, the team has been busy working and are pleased to announce that we finally go live with beta testers next week.  Well I can’t guarantee it will be next week, but we are making progress and things are looking up.

With that being said if you are interested in being a beta tester for the site, or want to know a little more about what we plan to  introduce to the gaming community, check out our facebook page.  If that is to difficult for you lazy people then email me at Thejackofalltrades10@gmail.com or Support@gamerpeer.com.

I am contemplating on what my post will be tonight.  I am leaning towards writing about the 100mile bike race I am currently training for or how miserable it is having not 1 but 2 broken Xbox 360′s.  I’ll decide after happy hour.
